In the heart of America is Nebraska, home of the National Arbor Day Foundation and birthplace of Kool-Aid in 1927, now the state drink! The rural state got its shot in the arm with free land grants in the 1860’s which attracted thousands of hardy easterners in search of a better life. The state still depends on the fortunes of its farmers with a strong love of the country life felt even by its city residents. Nebraskans love their sports so if you’re in town on the night of a baseball or football match you’ll be energised by the crowd. Warm dry summers and chilly snowy winters make Nebraska a great destination for a camper van or affordable outdoor breaks.
