Home of the world famous Indy 500 speedway rally, centre of the nation’s steel industry, slap dab in the middle of America’s manufacturing Rust Belt and agricultural Corn Belt and split by the Eastern and Central time zones, the picturesque state of Indiana lays good claim to being the Crossroads of America. With hundreds of lakes especially in the states southern tree covered rolling hill country, the state is popular with visitors who come in autumn to experience the leaf carpeted countryside and magnificent scenery. With a mild year round climate and winter snows, Indiana also has a rich Native American heritage and plenty of attractions to entertain city slickers and rev-heads.

Things to do in Indiana:

Come see the Indy 500 Hall of Fame Museum where the stars of the track and their machines are memorialised. Experience the thrill by doing a track lap!

The Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame is a fun place to learn about your favourite stars and get motivated. Located in New Castle, 35km south of Indianapolis.

Angel Mounds State is one of the best-preserved Native American sites where a thriving community flourished from 1100-1450. Today it’s a living museum well worth a visit.

In Terre Haute is the hands on Children’s Science and Technology Museum, full of fun learning for kids and families.

Fort Wayne’s Museum of Art. American art with regular seasonal exhibitions that make the gallery a great return destination.
